Macedonia to play friendly with Angola

Angola national football team, photo: FIFA.comThe football federations of Macedonia and Angola have arranged a friendly match to be played on the 29th of May in Portugal, Angola Press reported.

Three days after the scheduled friendly against Portugal on 26 May in Leiria, the Macedonian national football team will have another test.  The opponent will be the national team of Angola, according to media reports from that country.

The match has yet to be officially confirmed on or by FFM, but the media in Angola reported that the match will be played on the 29th of May in Lisbon, with the venue yet to be announced.

Angola is currently in the 78th position on the FIFA rankings list.  Their biggest success was qualifying for the 2006 World Cup in Germany.  To date, Angola and Macedonia have never faced one another.

Angola is preparing for the World Cup qualifications tournament.  Their first match is against Uganda on the 1st of June, which makes it only three days after the friendly match against Macedonia.
