Macedonia sits at #100 on latest FIFA rankings

The FIFA World Rankings were unveiled for the month of June, and Macedonia came in at exactly #100.

Over the past month, Macedonia did not play a game but still managed to gain nine points, bringing its tally to 321 points for June. Those extra nine points were enough for Macedonia to move up five spots to #100.

There was more movement on the rankings this time as opposed to the previous month. From the 54 member associations in UEFA, only ten nations are ranked lower than Macedonia. Those ten are Faroe Islands, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Malta, San Marino and Andorra.

When it comes to Macedonia’s opponents in Group C of EURO 2016 qualifying, Spain remained at #10, Slovakia moved up to #17, Ukraine followed at #35, Belarus sat at #80, while Luxembourg was bottom at #131. On the sixth matchday of the group on June 14, Macedonia visits Slovakia, Belarus hosts Spain, while Luxembourg travels to Ukraine.
