The home side had more of the ball in the opening minutes, trying to build attacks through the wings, but the Macedonian defense remained well organized and did not allow clear chances. Macedonia looked for opportunities mainly through quick transitions, but without a final product.

During the first half, both teams attempted several actions around the penalty area, however none of them resulted in a serious threat for the goalkeepers. The tempo of the game was moderate, with play mostly taking place in the midfield.

After the break, both coaches introduced fresh players, which slightly changed the dynamic of the match. Macedonia had a few moments in attack, trying to move the ball faster and create space, while Ireland continued to rely on possession.

Despite a few attempts from distance and several set pieces, neither side managed to create a clear scoring opportunity. The defenses stayed compact and disciplined throughout the match.

In the closing stages, the pace increased slightly as both teams pushed forward, but without success. The match ended without goals, with both teams unable to capitalize on their limited chances.
