Macedonia vs CameroonLast test for Macedonia before the very important game against Ireland away will be Cameroon who is in Skopje to play a friendly.

Battle of two national teams with similar nicknames: the Red Lions of Macedonia and the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

Macedonia for the first time will face the 4 times winner of the African Cup of nations, Cameroon. It should be an interesting clash as captains of both national teams are the teammates from the Champions Legaue most recent winner, Inter from Milano. Goran Pandev of Macedonia and Samuel Eto’o of Cameroon will have a chance to get a win and make it interesting at Inter’s locker room.

Cameroon is only the third African national team to play against Macedonia after Nigeria and Egypt travelled to Macedonia also for a friendly. It was 2:2 with Egypt in Kumanovo in 1998, while a goaless draw was the outcome of the game with Nigeria in Skopje in 2007.

"Surely Cameroon has bigger names in the squad than Macedonia, but thats only a challenge for us to put a good play and show our real capabilities before the qualifiers continue in march." said Mirsad Jonuz, the Macedonian national team coach on todays press conference in hotel Alexander Palace.

"I feel good here. I know Pandev and thats enough for me to know that we are facing a good team as Macedonia is. I saw some videos of their play and what I saw a strong team that knows what it wants from a game so therfore I’m expecting a good football." said Cameroonian star Samuel Eto’o.

"This game is a real challenge for us and I’m expecting a positive result from it. I have always given the maximum for the national team and tomorrow’s game will be no different." were the words of Goran Pandev.The press conference

Macedonia made one change in the squad as previously called Goran Popov of Dynamo Kyiv had to withdraw due to injury and instead was called Borce Manevski of Rabotnicki, the Best player of the domestic First League according to the fans. The Cameroonian squad also had a few changes.

Football betting companies are offering good odds for this game. 2.90 for a Macedonian victory, 3.20 for a draw and 2.30 for the African visitors. picks a Draw for this game, but hopes for a Home win.

The game will take place on Wednesday at the National Arena Philip II of Macedon in Skopje with a kick-off at 17.30 CET. Referees of the game will be Jovan Kaluđerovič, Dragan Vujović and Daniel Dević from Montenegro, while 4th assistant will be Aleksandar Stavrev from Macedonia.
