Attacker Krste Velkoski, the second leading scorer during the first half of the season in Macedonia, has agreed to a deal with Sarajevo from Bosnia.
Various newspapers in Bosnia reported that Krste Velkoski had arrived in Sarajevo on Sunday, and today he was officially presented as the latest signing for Sarajevo, signing a 2-and-a-half year contract. Velkoski moves to Sarajevo from Rabotnichki where he served as captain.
“I’m really glad to be a part of Sarajevo. I had an offer from South Korea, but after speaking to Adis Jahovikj I decided to come here. I hope to fulfill the club’s expectations” – Velkoski said during his promotion press-conference. As a reminder, Jahovikj used to play in Sarajevo earlier in his career.
Krste, who turns 26 next month, was the leading scorer with Rabotnichki with 14 goals during the first half of the season. He only trailed Turnovo‘s Dejan Blazhevski when it comes to the goal scoring list in the top league.
Velkoski is an experienced player who has also made stops in Romania and Cyprus besides his time in Macedonia. He will now move to Bosnia to join Sarajevo, one of the more popular clubs in that country. At the midway point of the 2013-14 season, Sarajevo finds itself in second place with 36 points, trailing the leaders Željezničar by two points.
Sarajevo is owned by Malaysian billionaire Vincent Tan who also owns English Premier League side Cardiff City, while the manager of Sarajevo is former Croatian footballer Robert Jarni.
