Katanec announced the squad

Even though it’s a friendly match for testing new players and tactics, Srečko Katanec continued in his style and announced the 18 players list for the upcoming friendly match against Serbia with only one new name – Ivan Trickovski.

Trickovski has only recently made a transfer to Serbian club Crvena Zvezda and will have a chance for proving in this game. In this period when there’s not much activity on the football pitches, it’s big mistery why Katanec didn’t extended the squad and test some new players in front of the WC 2010 qualifications.
Goalkeepers: Petar Milosevski (Enosis Neon Paralimni FC), Tome Pacovski (FK Rabotnicki Kometal).
Defenders: Goce Sedloski (SV Mattersburg),  Igor Mitreski (FC Energie Cottbus), Vlade Lazarevski (Dyskobolia Grodzisk Wielkopolski SSA), Boban Grncarov (KAA Gent), Nikolce Noveski (1. FSV Mainz 05), Goran Popov (Levadiakos F.C.).
Midfielders: Velice Sumulikoski (Bursaspor), Vlatko Grozdanoski (AC Omonia), Darko Tasevski (PFC Levski Sofia), Artim Polozani (TuS Koblenz), Slavco Georgievski (PFC Slavia Sofia).
Strikers: Goran Pandev (S.S. Lazio), Aco Stojkov (Debreceni VSC), Goran Maznov (FC Tom Tomsk), Ivan Trickovski (FK Crvena Zvezda), Ilco Naumoski (SV Mattersburg).
It’s still not official whether this game will be played on Gradski Stadium in Skopje, because of the construction works there. The game will be played on 6th of February.
