With all these results, we can say that Katanec’s performances were nothing more than just average. He is the second best Macedonian national team coach behind the legendary Gjoko Hadzievski who was very close to advance into the play-offs for the World Cup 1998. Katanec finished the EURO 2008 qualifications on the 5th place, far, far away from the places that were leading on the main tournament. His second qualifications are left unfinished and some other coach will end it starting with the home games against Norway and Iceland in June.
