Gjore Jovanovski was relieved of his duties as Shkendija manager today due to the poor results of his now former club.
The reason for the contract termination are of course the bad results for Shkendija. The board of directors had understanding for the bad results at the beginning of the season when the team still lacked many quality players and chemistry. However, with the club now being in the relegation zone and coupled with yesterday’s 5:0 trashing by Rabotnichki, Jovanovski was dismissed by the club. During his time as manager, Shkendija recorded 5 wins, 5 draws and 6 losses, results that the new sponsor. Also, Gjore failed to bring Shkendija to the semi-finals of the Macedonian Cup, getting eliminated by Bregalnica last week.
The most likely scenario is that Shkendija will hire a caretaker manager for the remaining three rounds before the winter break, and then look for a permanent solution after the New Year. Until a caretaker manager is selected, captain Nebi Mustafi will lead the training sessions.
