Free agent defender Jasmin Mecinovikj has joined Hungarian side Lombard Pápa on trial, attempting to secure a contract.
Earlier in the week, CB Jasmin Mecinovikj joined Lombard Pápa’s training camp for a trial. He featured in a friendly two days ago when he played all 90 minutes in a 3:0 Lombard Pápa victory over Duslo Sala.
Mecinovikj is looking for a new club after his team from last year, Egri, was relegated to the Hungarian second division by finishing in last place during the 2012-13 season. Lombard Pápa, meanwhile, finished in 14th place out of 16 teams last season, barely managing to avoid relegation. Mecinovikj will remain on trial over the next couple of days before the coaching staff of Lombard Pápa decides whether to offer Jasmin a contract.
Another Macedonian player was recently on trial with a Hungarian club in Gjorgji Tanushev, but he was ultimately not offered a contract by Kecskemét.
