APOEL announced today that Ivan Trickovski fractured his fourth metacarpal bone on his hand during a fall in Tuesday’s Champions League encounter against Real Madrid.  There was a foul during the game where Trickovski seemed to be in a lot of pain after a bad fall, and that was likely where he broke his fourth metacarpal bone.  APOEL did not announce whether the injury occurred to Ivan’s right or left hand.

Ivan Trickovski was able to play all 90 minutes this past Tuesday but after the game, during a radiograph, the fracture was discovered and APOEL’s official website stated that Trickovski is expected to undergo a surgery today, barring any unexpected events.

According to several medical websites, the recovery period for a fourth metacarpal fracture is anywhere between 4-8 weeks.  Thus, Trickovski will be out of action for some time and will surely miss the return leg against Real Madrid next Wednesday.
