Third defeat for Macedonia from five matches played in the EURO 2012 Group B qualifying after Ireland won with 2:1, with early goals scored in the first half.
After a very bad start, Ireland took the lead in the 85th second of the match when Aiden McGeady used a bad reaction by goalkeeper Nuredinoski.
Ireland doubled their lead in the 21st minute when Gibson blasted his free-kick straight at Nuredinoski who’s spill gifted Irish captain Robbie Keane and he didn’t find it hard to score from close range.
Macedonia pulled one back before the end of the first half when Goran Pandev assisted Ivan Trickovski who reacted excellent in the box.
Macedonia played well in the second half and deserved to equalize the score when after an assist by Demiri, Trickovski had great scoring chance, but Westwood blocked his shot.
Ireland now share top spot with Russia and Slovakia at the top of the table while Macedonia stay second bottom with four points.
