Ilco Naumoski back for Mattersburg

Ilco Naumoski served the two game suspension for Mattersburg and returned for today’s game against Rapid Wien.

After receiving a red card several weeks ago, Naumoski was handed a two game suspension and put on six months of probation.  He was eligible to return for today’s game and the Mattersburg manager Franz Lederer decided to start Naumoski on the bench.  Keep in mind that Naumoski used to play for the Rapid Wien youth system and in the past, Naumoski and the Rapid Wien fans have had heated exchanges so the Mattersburg manager decided it was best to start Ilco on the bench.

Naumoski eventually entered the game in the 51st minute replacing Wilfried Domoraud.  It was still 0:0 at that point but the match would end 1:1 with Mattersburg picking up a point against the famous Austrian club Rapid Wien.  Ilco did not seem to learn his lessons and continues to have disciplinary issues as he picked up yet another yellow card in the 90th minute of this game.

Ilco has recently lost his place on the Macedonian national team with the appointment of manager John Toshack.  He was not included in the squad for the Azerbaijan friendly in August and was also not called up for the two EURO 2012 qualifiers earlier this month.
