Ibraimi played 2nd half for Maribor

After playing for the Macedonian national team on Tuesday, Agim Ibraimi returned to Slovenia and was able to take part for Maribor in today’s return leg during a Slovenian Cup match.

Agim Ibraimi played the 2nd half for Macedonia in the Albania friendly yesterday and then returned to Slovenia and also played the 2nd half for Maribor during today’s game against Zavrč in the Slovenian Cup.  This was the return leg of the quarter-finals matchup as the first leg ended 3:3.  With the score tied at 0:0 during halftime, the Maribor manager decided to introduce Ibraimi at the start of the 2nd half by sacrificing fellow midfielder Željko Filipović.

Maribor would eventually win 1:0 over Zavrč with the lone goal being scored by Etien Velikonja in the 76th minute.  As a result, Maribor advanced to the semi-finals of the domestic cup by winning 4:3 on aggregate.  Ibraimi contributed to the win by causing a red card for a Zavrč player in the 60th minute.  Agim was fouled by Uros Gabrovec which led to the referee showing Gabrovec his second yellow card of the game, thus leading to a red card.
