Hristijan Denkovski will be staying with Groningen for at least one more season after he signed an extension last week.
The terms of this new contract are the same as the one he played under this past season. Denkovski signed an amateur contract, not a professional contract. He will initially train with the club’s reserves and whether he gets promoted to the first team will depend on his performances.

Obviously, Hristijan will be hoping to convince Groningen to offer him a professional contract after the season. For the 2014-15 campaign, Denkovski trained with the first team on several instances, and even made two matchday squads. However, he was an unused substitute in each game. Otherwise, he mostly played for the Groningen reserves. Groningen likes his technique, but they want him to be more consistent. Hristijan also dealt with injuries, including a broken nose.
Few days ago, the Dutch version of goal.com published a good article about Denkovski. It addressed numerous topics and is well worth a read. You can catch that article here.
