Goran Pandev sustained a minor injury during training and is doubtful for tomorrow’s game against Chievo.

Italian newspapers are reporting that Pandev suffered the injury during training and will likely miss tomorrow’s game against Chievo.  Pandev was set to start the game as the Napoli manager planned on resting some players due to a busy schedule.  However, with the injury, Pandev is doubtful and the Napoli manager will now choose between fellow strikers Mario Santana and Giuseppe Mascara as to who will start the game.  The injury is not believed to be serious but he is unlikely to recover in time for tomorrow’s game against Chievo.

Pandev had a solid appearance for Napoli in the last game against Milan.  Although he played for only 10 minutes, he created several chances for his teammates and the Napoli fans were pleased with his performance.  The Chievo game would have been a good opportunity for Pandev to get some more playing time but the injury will put that on hold for now.  This would have been Pandev’s first start in a Napoli uniform since joining them on loan from fellow Italian club Inter.
