Coach Milevski made several changes from the Malta qualifier. Stole Dimitrievski and Visar Musliu very released on request by their clubs, Arijan Ademi picked up an injury on training before Malta, while Gjoko Zajkov got a head injury against Malta. So, for this game Milevski gave chance to some reserves.
In a 3-4-3 formation he started with Damjan Shishkovski on goal, captain Stefan Ristovski, Darko Velkovski and Kire Ristevski in the back line, Ezgjan Alioski and Darko Churlinov and wingers, Enis Bardhi and Jani Atanasov as midfielders, Valon Ethemi, Ilija Nestorovski and Milan Ristovski in the attack.
The opening half was pretty boring in the first half an hour. Macedonia pretty much dominated, except for several minutes in the first quarter when the Faroese had the ball, but failed to create a chance.
The first serious attempt came in the 37th minute when a good action resulted with Alioski firing a shot that hit the crossbar.
Four minutes later the visitors had a chance through Radosavljević, but his shot went wide.
The second half started with a great chance for Jónsson after Velkovski and Ristovski did not understand each other, but his finishing was terrible.
After e period with several attempts but no serious chance, eventually in the 78th minute Elmas had a great chance. He escaped the offside trap and went one on one with Reynatrøð, but the keeper saved his shot.
The next minute Miovski came close on a header, but miss the target. The 82nd minute was underway the finally the deadlock was broken. Miovski found himself in front of the visiting keeper and scored.
Macedonia kept the score and recorded the second consecutive victory.
Highlights:
It was interesting that Milevski was pretty idle at the bench, while his assistant Robert Stojanovski seemed to be leading the team. Milevski at the post match press said that it was some king of a trial since he will not be leading the team at the next qualifier against Ukraine due to the red card picked up against Malta.
