Nice is after Aleksandar Lazevski while Monaco is targeting Goran Pandev; according to media reports from abroad.
The more realistic transfer is the one of left back Aleksandar Lazevski to Nice. The surprise of the season in Ligue 1 played the entire season with only one left back in 21-year-old Thimothée Kolodziejczak, so they will surely look to strengthen the depth of the squad as they get ready to participate in the Europa League next season. Manager Claude Puel appears interested in what Lazevski has to offer as a number of media outlets have already reported that the transfer is 90% done.
Partizan won’t get anything for Lazevski as his contract expires this month. For the Macedonian international the move to France would be his first adventure outside of Serbia. Lazevski is part of the Macedonian diaspora as he was born in Serbia and started his football career there. So far, he has featured in 13 matches for Macedonia and is currently part of the squad for the friendlies against Sweden and Norway.
Meanwhile, since Monaco gained promotion to Ligue 1, the media have started to connect many good players with the Monegasque side. One of them is Napoli’s Goran Pandev. He enjoyed much confidence under Walter Mazzari who was one of the main reasons that Pandev moved from Inter to Napoli, but after Mazzari’s departure Napoli is about to make many changes in the squad. New Napoli manager Rafael Benítez already coached Goran while at Inter, but only for 6 months. Pandev wasn’t very happy with his tactics as he often played outside of his main position.
However, Monaco already bought striker Radamel Falcao and attacker James Rodríguez, but it doesn’t mean that it will stop there. In the past, Pandev has always said that he feels settled in Naples with his family and doesn’t want to move. In addition, he also stated previously that Napoli will be the last Italian club he plays for, which can mean one of two things: he will either end his career there or move abroad.
Napoli currently possesses one of the best strikers in the world in Edinson Cavani, but he will most likely move to a bigger club this summer. Without him, Napoli would end up with only two attackers in Pandev and Lorenzo Insigne as Emanuele Calaiò will return to Siena next season since he was on loan. Benítez will surely buy multiple attackers, but whether Pandev fits his plans and scheme is yet to be determined.
