Rabotnichki hammered Pelister, Vardar grabs the top as both Turnovo and Pelister were defeated. Here is the recap of the first round after the long winter break.
What supposed to be the derby of the round ended in a humiliation for the visitors. Pelister failed to be a real match for Rabotnichki who was superior throughout the whole game. Bazhe Ilijoski scored a brace in the first half and he was close top celebrate a hat-trick, while one goal each was scored by Borche Manevski and captain Bazhe Todorovski.
Vardar profited the most from this round as is now alone at the top after celebrating a tight road win against Napredok. Although the home team remained without many of the first team players during the winter transfer window, Napredok gave Vardar a hard time and lost by a lone goal scored by Ilcho Naumoski in the dying moments before the break. Since the 44th minute Napredok was even playing with a player less as Toni Veljanovski was red carded, but the visitors didn’t use the player advantage to score more goals.
Turnovo was surprised in Shtip losing 2:0 to Bregalnica. Without their best player Dejan Blazhevski who left for Azerbaijan, Turnovo is a totaly different team. Aksentiev opened the score early in the 3rd minute bringing Bregalnica the lead. In the 63rd minute Sashko Pandev was sent off which left the visitors with man down. Later Markoski just doubled the lead allowing the home team to win valuable 3 points. The visitors missed a chance to get back in the game as Georgi Kakalov’s penalty was saved by keeper Daniel Bozhinovski.
Gorno Lisiche beat Gostivar away with 2:0. Despite the home field advantage Gostivar wasn’t favourite here as the club finds itself in a difficult position with most of the players being youngsters and reserves.
In a hard and even game, Metalurg beat Renova by one goal. It was Serbian striker Zoran Vujović who scored the lone goal bringing the home team important 3 points.
