It is now official, Filip Despotovski has finally latched on with a team by returning to Macedonia and signing with Rabotnicki.  The length of the contract is for 18 months but Despotovski will have the option to move in the January transfer window if Rabotnicki receives a good offer.  Despotovski signed as a free agent and Rabotnicki hopes to make a profit by Filip returning to form over the next couple of months before selling him to a team from abroad in either January of 2012 or in the summer transfer window.

Desptovski will turn 29 later this year and had a difficult time finding a team this summer.  He wanted to stay abroad but could not find a good offer so he chose to return to Macedonia.  He was in contract talks with Lyngby but could not agree to terms with the Danish club.  Earlier in the summer, Despotovski came close to signing with Pakhtakor from Uzbekistan but the deal fell through because of a contract dispute.  He waited and waited until finally accepting the Rabotnicki offer.

In Rabotnicki, Despotovski will replace midfielder Stephan Vujčić who recently moved to Inter Zaprešić.  Filip was a new name on the Macedonian national team once Mirsad Jonuz took over as manager a couple of years ago.  To date, he has made 17 appearances but has not been called up since the appointment of John Toshack.  Despotovski has played for numerous teams throughout his career but had the most success during a stint in Ukraine from 2008-2010 with Vorskla.
