Filip Despotovski signed a 1 year deal with Inter Bakı last summer and after the season concluded, the team announced that they will not attempt to bring back Despotovski who was slowed down this season because of a nagging injury.  He only made 12 league appearances and scored one goal as he missed several months because of his injury.  Despotovski signed late with Inter Bakı last summer because he was looking at joining a more prestigious league but he failed to find the right team so he decided to accept the offer by Inter Bakı.  He has played for numerous clubs throughout his career but had the most success during his stint with Ukrainian club Vorskla from Poltava from 2008 to 2010.

After Mirsad Jonuz was named the manager of the Macedonian national team, one of the new players that he invited was Despotovski who has since become a regular name on the national team.  He has made 16 appearances up to this point but is no longer a starter as newcomer Muhamed Demiri has been preferred over Despotovski as of late.  Despotovski is a defensive midfielder who is set to change teams once again this summer.
