Filip Despotovski has traveled to Denmark where he is in talks about joining top division club Lyngby.
Filip Despotovski could soon have a new team as he has entered talks about joining Danish top division club Lyngby. If the deal gets completed, Despotovski would become a teammate of Bajram Fetai who has two caps for the Macedonian national team. Lyngby has gotten off to a disappointing start in the Danish season with only four points after eight league games so they recently contacted Despotovski and have begun talks with Filip about joining their club.
Since Despotovski is currently a free agent, he can still sign with various clubs across Europe even though the transfer window has closed. Despotovski was heavily linked with both Vardar and Rabotnicki but it seems he is fully focused on finding a team from abroad. He will turn 29 years old in about one month so he is looking for a good offer since this will be one of his last contracts considering his age. It will be clear in the next couple of days whether Despotovski will agree teams with Lyngby. He will probably return to Macedonia to finish his career in a couple of years.
Despotovski was one of the new names for the Macedonian national team under former manager Mirsad Jonuz. He usually started in defensive midfield and has 17 appearances but is no longer a starter after Muhamed Demiri agreed to represent Macedonia. John Toshack did not include Despotovski in the squad for the two EURO 2012 qualifiers earlier this month. Filip has been without a team for months so he will need some time to get back into football shape. He last played for Inter Baku in Azerbaijan but was not brought back after his contract expired earlier in the summer. During his career, he was most successful during a stint with Ukrainian club Vorskla from 2008 to 2010.
