The home win against Lithuania helped Macedonia move up 5 places and reach the 97th position on the newest FIFA World Rankings.
Macedonia defeated Lithuania 1:0 in a friendly last month and that was enough to move up 5 place to the 97th position, moving above #100 for the first time in several months. Regardless, Macedonia remains one of the worst ranked teams in Europe and will to achieve some good results in the near future to additionally improve its ranking. Qualifiers count for more points so Macedonia can move up considerably upwards with good results against Croatia and Scotland.
