“For the first time in almost 15 years, second-division clubs are not obliged to pay a participation fee for participation in the championship. This decision, made at the initiative of the FFM president, Masar Omeragikj, represents a significant step forward towards creating better working conditions for clubs, financial relief and improving the competition,” the FFM announced.
The total financial amount that the clubs are exempted from with this measure is 128,000 euros for one season. “This represents direct support and strengthening of their stability,” the Federation added. The participation fee per club was 8,000 euros.
FFM also confirmed what was already known, and all that was awaited was officialization: Prespa from Resen takes the place Besa 1976 from Dobri Dol, who withdrew.
“Given that Besa 1976 will not compete in the 2025/2026 season, the FFM has decided to fill the vacant position with Prespa. This guarantees the protection of integrity, continuity and competitive balance, as well as consistent respect for fair play principles in the 2.MFL.”
The second division season begins this weekend, and all eight matches are scheduled for Saturday at 17:00 CET.
The Round 1 matches are:
Vardar – Teteks
Bregalnica – Kozhuf
Novaci – Pobeda
Sasa – Osogovo
Prespa – Shkendija 77
