Few changes for the Norway friendly

Chede Janevski was forced to make a few changes for the second friendly against Norway, including the addition of versatile defender Daniel Ivanovski.

The new name in the squad is Daniel Ivanovski who plays for Swedish top division side Mjällby. His original position is central defender, but he has been playing as a right back for the past couple of seasons. Ivanovski, so far, has only played two games for the national team, both of which date back to 2006 (friendlies against Ecuador and Turkey).

Withdrawn from the squad are attacker Aleksandar Trajkovski and right back Stefan Ristovski who were added to the U21 national team for their qualifying game on Saturday against Azerbaijan.

Because of injuries, Daniel Georgievski and Darko Tasevski are doubtful for the Norway clash. Tasevski got injured during the friendly against Sweden when a bad aerial tackle by a home player broke his arcade, while Georgievski was already injured and didn’t feature in the Sweden game.

In addition, the squad will see the return of central defender Boban Grncharov, defensive midfielder Veliche Shumulikoski, striker Adis Jahovikj and attacker Dushan Savikj. Shumulikoski had a club game over last weekend so he was unavailable for the Sweden friendly, while the other three players remained in Skopje as Janevski’s plan all along was apparently to use those three guys just for the Norway match.

Macedonia faces Norway in a friendly in Oslo on 11 June.
