Extended squad for upcoming friendlies announced

Macedonia will play two friendly matches in May period just before the start of the 2014 World Cup. First, they will face Cameroon in Austria on 26 May, and then 4 days later Macedonia will travel to Italy for a friendly against Qatar.

For those two encounters, manager Boshko Gjurovski has announced an extended squad at today’s press conference which should later be narrowed down.

Besides Goran Pandev, it has now been confirmed that Nikolche Noveski has retired from the national team. Noveski recently turned 35 years old and wants to focus the latter stage of his career on his club teams Mainz. The only new name on the list, beside some of the younger players from the domestic league, is Besart Abdurahimi has accepted the invitation from Gjurovski. In the future, the Macedonian Federation said it will be looking to attract even more players with Macedonian origin.
