Ukrainian newspapers reported on Friday that French top division club Evian is interested in adding Goran Popov for the upcoming season.
Dynamo Kyiv, the club that owns Popov’s rights, and Evian have done business in the recent past. As a matter of fact, three Dynamo Kyiv owner players in Facundo Bertoglio, Andrés Escobar and Marco Ruben spent this past season on loan at Evian. Now, it appers Evian wants to bring in Goran Popov on loan, if Ukrainian newspapers are to be believed.
It was mentioned that Popov’s agent does not want his client to remain in Ukraine, and is looking for a new destination where Goran would receive regular playing time. Furthermore, it was noted that Popov would prefer to be loaned to a club from England, but the article mentioned that Evian has shown the most interest in the Macedonian international. Evian is looking to strengthen its squad after finishing in 14th place last season (league features 20 teams).
Goran’s older brother, Robert (now retired), formerly played in the French league with AJ Auxerre.
