Elmas gets Real Madrid in Champions League group stage

Napoli, the club of Macedonian star player Elif Elmas, got its opponents in today’s UEFA Champions League draw at Grimaldi Forum in Monaco.

Elmas will face most successful side Real Madrid, Portuguese 3rd-placed side Braga and debutantes Union Berlin, the team that finished 4th in the Bundesliga last season. These teams were all placed in Group C. The schedule will be known on Friday.

Elif Elmas this season will be the lone Macedonian player in the Champions League. So far he has played two seasons in the group stage (2019/20 & 2022/23), this being his third. He has played 15 matches and is still waiting for his first goal and first assist. Last season he and Napoli were eliminated in the quarter-finals, while in 2019/20 in the last 16.
