Shkendija were favorites against Azeri side Sumqayıt despite playing away. The Tetovo based team was a bit better throughout the entire 90 minutes created few chances and defended well. The leading goal came from the spot with Ibraimi converting it. A minute before the end Shkendija was awarded a second penalty, this time for handling which was converted by Doriev.

Renova make a big surprise by winning and eliminating Armenian hosts Alashkert. The Armenians were better during the entire match, constantly attacking and creating chances, while Renova defended and was trying to do something on counter attack. During a corner kick in the 58th minute, the Macedonians seized the occasion and scored through Mishkovski’s header.

Shkupi had the toughest task by facing Azeri giants Neftçi on the road. Moroccan international Bougrine broke the deadlock in the 66th minute. Two minutes later Oumar Goudiaby got a second yellow card and left Shkupi with 10 men. Two minutes before time Krivotsyuk doubled the lead, while Darboe in the injury time scored a consolation goal for the Macedonian side.
