Edin Nuredinoski has been linked to join Anorthosis, a team that reached the 2008-2009 Champions League group stages.
After two successful seasons with Ethnikos Achnas, Edin Nuredinoski could be on his way to joining Anorthosis which are managed by the former manager of the Bulgarian national team Stanimir Stoilov. Nuredinoski has built a good name for himself in Cyprus and was a big factor in helping his team Ethnikos Achnas avoid relegation. Ethnikos Achnas is one of the smallest clubs in Cyprus and don’t have the budget to compete with the big clubs but they avoided relegation once again this year and even reached the semifinals of the Cypriot Cup before they were eliminated by Omonia.
Nuredinoski has received interest from both APOEL and Anorthosis but the latter seems to have the most interest in bringing Nuredinoski to their team. Nuredinoski has one year remaining on his contract and any team interested in him has to pay a clause of 150,000 euros in his contract which shouldn’t be a problem for a team like Anorthosis.
Nuredinoski has taken over as the #1 keeper of the Macedonian national team following the serious leg injury by Tome Pacovski. He has made 11 appearances for the national team up to this point and his first ten caps were solid but he had a game to forget in the last match against Ireland when he conceded two soft goals in a 2:1 victory for the Irish.
Anorthosis is the third most successful club in Cyprus behind APOEL and Omonia and they regularly play in European competitions.
