More chaos and uncertainty surrounding the national team. Ljubinko Drulovic, who began his coaching stint with Macedonia this past April, is gone after only six months. Drulovic is returning to his native Serbia to take over Partizan.

The job became open after Partizan parted ways with Zoran Milinkovic due to the club’s bad form in league play. Partizan’s board of directors held a meeting on Thursday and announced the departure of Milinkovic. Afterwards, it was revealed that Drulovic would become the new manager. He will sign his contract on Friday and then be promoted to the press. The deal will be until the end of the 2015-16 season.

With that, Drulovic only lasted five games for Macedonia. His record will read one draw and four losses. He was unable to improve the situation during his short stint.

The original contract between Drulovic and the Macedonian federation was for six months with an option to extend the agreement for an additional two years. There was also a clause that Macedonia had to finish in fourth place, something that did not happen. Instead, Macedonia occupied the sixth and last spot in the group.

Despite that failure, the management of FFM still planned to sit down with Drulovic to discuss his future. That, however, will now not transpire as Ljubinko jumped at the opportunity to rejoin Partizan, one of the clubs he played for during his career.

The lack of stability at manager will continue after today’s news. Macedonia plays a friendly against Montenegro on November 12, so a coaching search will have to begin immediately to fill the vacancy. It is also possible that an interim coach may lead Macedonia next month if a permanent manager can’t be found by that time.
