Dinamo București to target Mirko Ivanovski

Mirko IvanovskiDinamo București has put Mirko Ivanovski at the top of their wish list for the 2014 winter transfer window, according to a prominent newspaper in Romania.

The newspaper Gazeta Sporturilor reported today that Dinamo București will attempt to sign Mirko Ivanovski during the 2014 winter transfer window.   Dinamo București is very thin at striker as Ionel Dănciulescu recently retired, while three other attackers in Joël Thomas, Kévin Zougoula and Pape N’Daw have failed to make much of an impact and do not appear to be in the plans of the manager, leaving the club with just on loan striker George Țucudean on its roster.  Therefore, Dinamo București will be targeting strikers during the winter transfer window to solidify the position.

Mirko Ivanovski is not believed to be happy with the lack of stability concerning his playing time at Astra.  He would start some games, then come off the bench in others, leading to an unsettled role.  This season, Ivanovski has played in 11 of the 13 Astra league games, scoring six goals.  In those 11 appearances, five have been as a starter and six coming off the bench.  At Dinamo București, Mirko should be able to receive regular playing time with not as much competition in attack.

Since Ivanovski in still under contract, Dinamo București would have to pay a transfer fee to Astra for Ivanovski.  Besides Dinamo București, Rapid Wien and Zürich were also linked with having an interest in Ivanovski last month.

Dinamo București also had strong interest in another Macedonian striker, Jovan Kostovski, but he ultimately decided to transfer to Belgian club OH Leuven earlier in the summer.  The Romanian club does feature a Macedonian player on its roster in Kristijan Naumovski who serves as the backup keeper behind Cristian Bălgrădean.
