After Goran Pandev, Goran Popov, Zlatko Tanevski and Artim Sakiri, Filip Despotovski is the fifth Macedonian international with a cup title. He and his club Vorskla from Poltava defeated UEFA Cup winner Shakhtar from Donetsk with 1:0 and won the first trophy in the entire club history. Despotovski, who is called up in the Macedonian national team for the games against Norway and Iceland, played the whole final.
