Goalkeeper Iliev has left Finnish side HJK and will be the new goalkeeper of Sarajevo. Iliev has signed a 6-months contract with an option of 2 years extension.
Iliev has last played for HJK in the Finnish Veikkausliiga. His team actually won the trophy, but Iliev had misfortune and suffered an injury earlier in the season. Prior to his injury he has featured 11 times as keeper for HJK.
Iliev is product of the Belasica football school and he has made a spectacular transfer to English giants Arsenal back in 2012. He hasn’t featured in the first team of Arsenal, though. He was sent on several loans before permanently signing with Trenčín in Slovakia and then moving to Finland with HJK.
Dejan Iliev will not be the only Macedonian in Sarajevo as he joins Daniel Avramovski.
