David Babunski and former Barça manager Pep Guardiola

David Babunski with just one game for the U21?!

David Babunski and former Barça manager Pep GuardiolaNational team manager Chedomir Janevski spoke about David Babunski and his performances with the U21 team. But, he is not well informed.

Kanal 5 published an article based on a press conference held by the Macedonian selector Chede Janveski that David Babunski, the 18-year-old talent from Spanish giants FC Barcelona, has only played one game for the Macedonian U21 National Team. As you can see on Kanal 5’s homepage there is also a video from the press conference where Chede Janevski personally states that David Babunski played in only one game (02:00):

Well, there is one problem regarding this information:

David Babunski has already played in eight games for the U21 team. He made his debut on 10.05.2012 in the U21-qualifications against Northern Ireland and in the following period he played in four more games of the U21-qualifications (against Denmark, Serbia, Faroe Islands and one more game against Northern Ireland). Moreover, David played in three friendlies for the U21, the game against Montenegro, which was mentioned by Chede Janevski, and the matches against Albania and Netherlands. In those eight games David Babunski, despite his youth, regularly was one of the better players and scored two goals (against Albania and Montenegro) and provided two assists (against Denmark and Northern Ireland).

How is it possible that Chede Janevski is so badly informed about David Babunski? We appreciate what Chede Janevski has done so far as the coach of Macedonia, but he should be informed much better before he judges a player.
