Caretaker manager Zoran Stratev had to make a change in his squad for the upcoming qualifiers.

Ivan Trichkovski suffered an injury during a match for his club Waasland-Beveren and will not be available for the matches against Wales and Serbia, so Zoran Stratev needed to make a change to the squad he initially announced.

Defender Daniel Ivanovski from Swedish side Mjällby is the player who has been called up in place of Trichkovski. It was a rather strange call-up as Ivanovski is a defender while Trichkovski a forward.  For his club team, Daniel has played as either a CB or RB so his added versatility worked in his favor.
