Cup: Semifinal first leg matches played (Video)

Ohrid Lychnidos and Sileks played a draw, while Shkëndija edged Shkëndija 77 as the return legs will decide the finalists in both ties.

The two second division promotion candidates today showed that are not by coincidence in the semifinal of the Macedonian Cup and gave tough matches to their rivals, three-time cup winner Sileks and two-time cup champion Shkëndija.

The match in Ohrid was played first starting at noon. The hosts took the lead in the 36th minute when Gligovov scored after his teammates made a great combination of passes without losing the ball making a total od 12 passes before scoring. the visitors from Kratovo equalized in the stoppage time of the first half with a bit of luck. Darko Dodev wanted to pass in the box to Alić from left but was blocked by Darko Ilieski. Unfortunately the ball rebounded exactly before the Bosnian forward who header home. Sileks took the initiative after the break but couldn’t find a winner, with the Ohrid players collecting a total of 8 yellow cards.

Top flight current title holder Shkëndija seems like underestimated its second league opponent Shkëndija 77 by fielding few reserve players in the starting eleven. They did took the lead quickly, but from the spot as Djihan Adili badly kicked Vane Krstevski in the box. Albanian defender Aleksandër Trumçi converted the penalty kick. Despite being early a goal down, the visitors from Arachinovo didn’t give and even managed to turn the result around. At half an hour Nikolche Sharkoski perfectly served Amir Nuhija in the box and the former Shkëndija player easily headed home. Thirteen minutes later Fikret Ljivareka fired a shot that got blocked by Numan Ajetović, the ball went back to Ljivareka who fired again, this time in the home net.

After the break the hosts quickly equalized. Trumçi sent a cross for Krstevski at the far post, who was left unmarked and easily scored. In the 69th minute another mistake by the visiting back line. Endrit Krasniqi took a free kick, Macedonian U21 national team central defender Anes Meljichi was left unmarked in the box and simply tapped in the ball for a 3:2 win.
