The favorites escaped a clash as the Macedonian Cup draw for the eight-finals took place today.

Eight first league teams and six second league teams will participate in this stage of the Macedonian Cup 2018/19. The seventh second league side, Korabi, won the lottery by being drawn to be the lucky team without an opponent, meaning that the Debar based team is already qualified for the quarter-finals. That is due to the insufficient number of teams that qualified for this stage (15 instead of 16) and that occurred as 30 teams entered the cup instead of 32. It was smarter to have two lucky teams in the first round than even one in the eight-finals, but that is a mistake by FFM. For future seasons we suggested to FFM to think about leaving out the holders from the opening round if such a problem occurs again.

Holders Shkendija will play against probably the biggest surprise on the first round, Kit-Go from Pehchevo. The second league East team eliminated Shkupi  and now will have even tougher opponent to surprise.

Tikvesh (2) vs. Rabotnichki (1)
Gostivar (2) vs. Pobeda (1)
Vardar (1) vs. Makedonija GjP (1)
Skopje (2) vs. Sileks (1)
Shkendija (1) vs. Kit-Go (2)
Bregalnica (2) vs. Akademija Pandev (1)
Pelister (2) vs. Belasica (1)

The first leg matches are scheduled for next Wednesday, the 19th at 15.30 CET, while the return will be played on 03 October at 15.00 CET.
