The Macedonian champion with a come from behind win tonight in Bucharest qualified for the third qualifying round where will face Azeri champions Qarabağ.

Shkëndija entered the match with a 1:0 lead from the first leg played in Skopje and without suspended Kamer Qaka. FCSB started attacking right from the start and missed few chances. In the 28th minute the hosts levelled the aggregate score after Daniel Birligea served Juri Cisotti, who was forgotten by the Shkëndija defenders.

The Romanians did not manage to hold the lead for a long time as just five minutes later Shkëndija equalized. After a corner kick there was a rumble in the home box resulting with Liridon Latifi scoring despite lying on the ground.

FCSB was desperate to find another goal, but could not create a serios threat. Instead, in the 80th minute Besart Ibraimi missed a great opportunity after he was perfectly served near the penalty spot, but somehow manage to shot wide.

It was the Macedonian champion who found a game winning goal. In the 87th minute substitute Vane Krstevski fired from outside thew box, Baba Alhassan while trying to block it only deflected the ball just to beat keeper Ștefan Târnovanu.

Shkëndija celebrated with 3:1 on aggregate and qualified for the 3rd qualifying round where will have a tough task in Qarabağ, the champion of Azerbaijan. The matches will be played on 5 or 6 August in Skopje and the return on the 12th in Baku.

Winning of this second round tie is important because Shkëndija has now at least secured a Conference league group stage place. This is because if the lose against Qarabağ will continue in the play-off for the Europa League, and if they lose there as well will enter the Conference league group stage, according to rules by UEFA.
