Macedonian 2nd League – Round 8
After seven defeats in a row, eventually Novaci won. Bregalnica Stip destroyed Vardar Negotino with six goals, while Shkendija beat Ohrid in the most interesting match in this round where seven goals were scored. In the derby of the round, Sloga Jugomagnat beat Teteks with 1:0. Drita remain on the top.
U21 friendly match against Bulgaria
Mirsad Jonuz, the coach of the Macedonian U21 national team announced the squad for the friendly match against Bulgaria U21 that will be played in Probistip on October 15th.
Iceland squad announced
The national team coach of Iceland, Ólafur Jóhannesson, has already announced the 22 players for their upcoming games for the WC 2010 qualifications against the Netherlands away in Rotterdam and Macedonia at home in Reykjavík. The biggest name on the list is ofcaurse the Barcelona striker Eiður Guðjohnsen.
46th place at the FIFA ranking list – a new record
Macedonia made a new record at the FIFA ranking list that was released today. The previous record of 49th place is now beaten by the newest as the Macedonians found themselves at the 46th place leaving behind national teams like Belgium, South Korea, Tunisia, Hungary, Senegal and Iran. Weekend internationals performances
Great performance by Filip Ivanovski! He scored twice and brought the victory to Polonia all by himself. Sakiri also brought his team the win, but with one goal. Nikolce Noveski and Slavco Georgievski scored as well. Pandev this time was stopped by Lecce.
Filip Ivanovski on the top of Poland
