In the derby of Skopje, Rabotnicki won the points with a goal in the last minute besides Vardar’s first lead. Renova celebrated a big win away to Kratovo, Teteks harder then expected defeated Turnovo, while Metalurg won on the “hot” pitch in Cair. Leaders Shkendija noted another win, while Skopje surprisingly beat Bregalnica away in Stip with a few dubious decisions by the referees.

Macedonia dropped on the 66th position
A big drop of ten positions on the latest FIFA rankings. After the defeats away to Scotland and Norway in September, even the win on the friendly against Qatar didn’t help, so Macedonia lost 94 points and is ranked 66th on the FIFA World Ranking for October 2009.
Friendlies against Canada and Iran
The Football Federation of Macedonia has arranged two friendly matches for next month. Macedonia will host Canada and then will travel to Iran for friendly matches as part of the preparations for the EURO 2012 qualifiers.
Macedonia U21 – Portugal U21 1:1
A missed opportunity for victory in the qualifications tournament for EURO 2011 for players under 21 years. Macedonia had lead of 1-0, but a goal in 90th minute set the final score of 1-1.
Macedonia – Qatar 2:1
Macedonia defeated Qatar in the friendly match played today in Skopje. Goran Pandev was the hero, scoring both goals in the 2:1 victory.
