Bright future

The waiting is finally over for the Macedonian football fans. Its no more dilemma that Katanec will take charge of the Macedonian national team for the next coming World Cup qualifiers, he said he needs a bit of time to think and analyse and he stood by his word that Macedonia will always be his first choice.

Now when all the rumours about him are done and dusted we need to be all united and stand behind him and the team and give them our best support. With some friendly games already on the schedule early in 2008 Katanec have more than enough time to prepare the team for the opening game of the qualifying campaign against Scotland in September. There are few footballers that are still waiting to get a chance to play in the national team so maybe now it’s the right time to give them that opportunity and see what they have to offer. Mario Djurovski and Nderim Nedzipi are amongst those players on the waiting list and on the other hand Goran Slavkovski needs to accept his invitation to play for Macedonia or be clear and say that he prefers to wait for his chance with Sweden because as we all know nobody is bigger than the national team and nobody can play ‘’hide and seek’’ games. With the prospect of Katanec signing his new contract followed with the confirmation that refurbishment is about to begin early February on Gradski Stadium in Skopje and with the lurking in the background of new young and most important talented players the future for the Macedonian national football looks pretty much bright, so bring on the Tartan Army.
