Boban Grncarov and APOEL are having a tough time agreeing to a new contract and Grncarov is most likely to leave the current champions of Cyprus.
Boban Grncarov is a free agent this summer after spending two successful years in an APOEL uniform but the two sides are at a standstill concerning contract negotiations and Grncarov is unlikely to return to APOEL. The stay of Grncarov was a top priority for APOEL manager Ivan Jovanović but the team is not willing to match the pay raise that Grncarov is seeking.
The team has already re-signed several defenders and is now looking abroad at additional defenders such as Marcelo Oliveira and Nemajna Rnić due to the unsuccessful attempts to re-sign Grncarov. Grncarov was a regular starter for APOEL this season and even managed to score six goals from the CB position.
Grncarov has 20 appearances for the Macedonian national team and has scored one goal in a FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Norway in 2009. He started in the last game for the Macedonian national team against Ireland and seems set to replace the aging Igor Mitreski at CB and form a partnership with Nikolce Noveski.
