Ben Kantarovski called up by Australia

Only a month ago, Ben Kantarovski in an interview for MacedonianFootball.com claimed that he is proud of the Macedonian heritage, but our Football federation took no action and Macedonia is about to lose another big talent as Kantarovski has been called by the Australian national team at age of 17.

Ben Kantarovski is definitely one of the biggest Australian talents who set the record of being the youngest player ever to sign a contract in the A-League at age of 15 and youngest A-League player ever at age of 16. Because of his Macedonian heritage, the Macedonian football fans had small hopes that maybe one day he will play for Macedonia. But the Football federation of Macedonia took no action and Kantarovski will make his debut for the Australian senior national team at the age of 17.

Socceroos Head Coach Pim Verbeek has selected Ben Kantarovski in the squad of 24 players for the upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2011 Qualifier match, against Kuwait in Canberra on Thursday 5 March. Previously Kantarovski appeared in all Australian youth national teams and because of his age he was still eligible to play for other country, but he will not be eligilbe anymore if he makes his debut for Australia on the upcoming match.
