Beerschot manager praises Pacovski

Beerschot manager Jacky Mathijssen has praised the character and professionalism of Tome Pacovski amidst not playing for the Belgian club.

Tome Pacovski is currently the #3 keeper for Beerschot behind Stijn Stijnen and Kristof Maes.  The manager knows this is difficult for Tome since he has the ambitions to play for the Macedonian national team and that is tough to accomplish with him being third choice for his club team.

During today’s press conference, the Beerschot manager said the following, “Tome is going through a difficult moment in his career but he continues to do his job properly.  He comes to work every training and behaves like a true professional.  I appreciate that very much.”

The manager added, “Since we will be playing three games in nine days, I will show respect to Tome and give him the start for this Wednesday’s Belgian Cup game against Royal Mouscron-Péruwelz.”

Pacovski is now 29 years old and this is the last year on his contract with Beerschot.  He joined the Belgian club in the summer of 2009 from Vardar.  To date, Pacovski has made 20 appearances for the Macedonian national team.  Last year, he suffered a double leg fracture in a game against Anderlecht which forced him to miss several months.  That injury also caused him to lose his starting place with the senior national team.  Under new manager John Toshack, Pacovski is currently the #2 keeper for Macedonia behind Martin Bogatinov.
