After missing the pre-World Cup friendlies against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Türkiye due to injury, captain Bardhi returned for the Nations League, but after recovering almost all summer he played only 72 minutes in a total of 4 matches for Turkish side Konyaspor in the new season.
“We gave our all, we fought until the end, but sometimes even the maximum is not enough. We have gone through many difficult days, it was difficult for everyone, we are going together to come back better. Disappointment hurts… But if we have learned anything over the years, it is that Macedonia always finds the strength to come back. WE WILL COME BACK. WE MUST COME BACK! Keep your heads up. This is not the end of our story,” Bardhi wrote.
Macedonia not only still has no victory under new coach Goce Sedloski in eight matches, but it is also without a goal scored.
