David Babunski scored his first goal for Barcelona’s first team during the semi-final of the Copa Catalunya.

David Babunski was given the start in the semi-final of the Copa Catalunya against Girona. Barca was led by Eusebio Sacristán, current Barcelona B manager, and the team mainly consisted of Barcelona B and Juvenil A players.

This was the first match for David Babunski in Barcelona’s first team. He used his opportunity greatly and scored a goal on his debut. Prior to scoring, he had another great chance after a cross by Godswill, but he was just late and although managed to get a shot on goal, Girona’s keeper saved the ball. But, not in the next opportunity as well. In the 19th minute, Dongou played an excellent through ball which found Babunski in the box and he made no mistake this time. He fired the ball immediately and opened the scoreline.

Barcelona went on to win the match 3:2 and will face Espanyol in this year’s final of Copa Catalunya. David Babunski played 71 minutes and was substituted by Kaptoum.
