Babunski announced U21 squad for match against Serbia

Macedonia U21; photo: ffm.com.mkManager Boban Babunski named a squad of 21 players for the opening qualification match against Serbia for the 2013 UEFA Under-21 championships.

Macedonia U21 plays its first match in Group 4 of the 2013 UEFA U21 qualifications on 7 October 2011 against Serbia.  The match will be played at the Boris Trajkovski stadium in Skopje with the match starting at 15:00 CET.

Many Macedonian fans will be wondering why goalkeeper Dejan Stojanović from Bologna was not called up.  Stojanović, who plays for the Primavera team of Bologna, is not injured but Babunski has not included him and instead opted for Filip Gacevski and Stole Dimitrievski at the keeper position.

The biggest strength for the Macedonian U21 team is the attacking department with the likes of Aleksandar Trajkovski, Ferhan Hasani, Ilija Nestorovski, Samir Fazli, and Marjan Altiparmakovski.

The captain of the U21 team is defender Goran Bogdanović from Rabotnicki as the squad has been together for several years so the manager Boban Babunski expects positive results in these qualifications.  Therefore, It will be imperative to get off to a good start against Serbia.
