National team coach Igor Angelovski revealed the list of summoned players for the friendly games against Slovenia and Bulgaria in which besides Goran Pandev come back makes Adis Jahovikj as well.
Macedonia will first travel to Slovenia on the 23rd and six days later will host Bulgaria. For that occasion Angelovski called up 18 players, but all those needed in the U21 national team got willingly left out as the U21s play important EURO qualifiers.
Back in the national team after 2,5 years of absence is top goalscorer Goran Pandev who lastly played in the 2014 World Cup qualifier against Wales away. Since then Pandev was retired and now finally decided to get back. Back in the NT is also striker Adis Jahovikj who last time was on the team for the EURO 2016 qualifiers in November 2014. Before the home game against Slovakia, he had a brawl with Daniel Georgievski after which both were suspended. Georgievski apologized, while Jahovikj didn’t and since that he was ignored.
Not available due to injuries are Swedish-born keeper David Mitov Nilsson and Daniel Mojsov, while Enis Bardhi, Marjan Radeski, David Babunski, Gjoko Zajkov and Boban Nikolov were intentionally left out in order to play for the U21s.
Bazhe Ilijoski and Krste Velkoski obviously did not get a call because they are now playing for club in Eastern Asia. Besart Abdurahimi and Vladica Brdarovski lack playing time in their clubs, Arijan Ademi was suspended by FIFA due to the doping scandal, while Milovan Petrovikj was probably dropped due to not being in form.
