Just like his twin brother Antonio, Viborg has decided to loan Aleksandar Stankov. He will move to Horsens until the end of 2015.
The Stankov twins, Aleksandar and Antonio, helped Viborg secure promotion last season by winning the title in the Danish second division. However, with a new manager in the top tier, neither player was in the plans of the coach.
Earlier this season, Antonio was shipped to a season-long loan deal to Vejle, and now Aleksandar will be heading to AC Horsens. Unlike Antonio, however, the Aleksandar loan is until December 31, 2015. So, he will be there for just over four months. Then, Viborg will decide whether to take him back, extend the loan with Horsens, or loan him somewhere else.
Viborg’s sports director Ole Nielsen noted, “Aleksandar needs to play first team football, but unfortunately we can not offer him that at this time. Therefore, we agree that the loan is a fine opportunity for him to spend half-a-year at Horsens, where he will hopefully play a lot of matches.”
On Horsens’s website, the club’s manager, Bo Henriksen, called Aleksandar Stankov their top priority in attack, so they were happy to get him on loan. Horsens has had a rocky start this season. They have lost all three games in league play.
Aleksandar may debut for Horsens later today when Horsens takes on Roskilde.
