Ademi retires from national team

Arijan Ademi informed national team coach Blagoja Milevski that he is retiring from the national team. Milevski offered him a farewell match and the player will decide when that will happen.

Milevski talked about the upcoming two friendly matches against Moldova and Montenegro in Turkish resort of Antalya. He informed that he will summon many players, much more that his usual rosters and that Ademi will not be there.

“The list will be wider compared to those in the qualifiers, there will be 27 or 28 players. Due to an injury we will not have Isnik Alimi. I especially regret the absence of Arijan Ademi, who for personal reasons decided to end his national team career. I had a conversation with Arijan on Monday. We will miss him both as a person and as a player. He is categorical in his decision. He feels that this is the moment for the end of his presence in the national team, so we will not count on him. We should all express gratitude for his contribution to the Macedonian national team and to our football in general. I proposed to organize a farewell match, FFM accepted this idea and now it is his decision whether it would happen at the match against Croatia on June 3 or at the first home match in Skopje.” – said Milevski.

Ademi will turn 33 at the end of May. He is not in the best shape for couple of years now and the retirement is not a surprise. Even at Dinamo he is not a standard player and is not even on the UEFA lists for their matches in the Europa Conference League. He played a total of 33 matches for Macedonia scoring 4 goals.

Macedonia will first play against Moldova on 22 March, while on the 25th will face Montenegro.
